Wide Orbit’s debut brings Chicago-rooted rock with a DIY live-room feel
Wide Orbit is a Chicago-based rock project led by songwriter Ryan Tuohy. The available sources describe the band as a product of college-town friendships and experimentation, with a debut album recorded live in a cramped room. The release arrived in 2025 on 22Twenty and is presented as a full-band effort with Tuohy credited as writer and producer. Coverage of the album points to a mix of loose energy, classic guitar influences, and left turns, while also noting that some songs lean toward more interpersonal themes and others toward psychedelic or experimental ideas. If you’re new to Wide Orbit, the debut is a good place to start, especially with the documented singles and album tracks below.
