This Is Lorelei: the story and songs to start with

This Is Lorelei grew from a long Bandcamp archive into formal albums

This Is Lorelei is Nate Amos’s solo project, separate from Water From Your Eyes. Sources place its start in 2014, when his earliest recordings began appearing on Bandcamp, and describe those early releases as self-recorded and self-released. Box for Buddy, Box for Star became the project’s first proper release with label support, and Holo Boy revisited older material from the back catalog. Amos has said he prefers writing quickly and does not want to spend a year on an album. He also framed Holo Boy as a way to surface songs listeners may have missed and lead them back to earlier releases.
