The Forces: Dutch psychedelic-soul shaped by 60s references and hip-hop-minded production
The Forces is a project around Dutch producer Joshua Boon, based in Almere, Netherlands. The materials describe a blend of 60s psychedelia, hip-hop-inspired beats, and soul, with vocals by Manchester singer Tim Condor. The self-titled EP arrived in 2022, followed by Voyages in 2023. Boon says he wanted to make genuine but experimental songs inspired by The Beatles and The Beach Boys, while keeping the work rooted in modern production choices. Start with the two tracks below to hear how those ideas are presented across the catalog.
