Meet The Bug Club.
The Bug Club are a Wales-based rock band from Caldicot with a busy release trail and a self-described focus on everyday tales. Their Bandcamp page says they are a tight-knit, collaborative effort focused on telling tales of the everyday that we often take for granted, shot through with humour and riffs-a-plenty. A 2024 Sub Pop release, On the Intricate Inner Workings of the System, is presented with eleven tracks and the band’s own note about the album’s first release on the label. Interview coverage also points to a fast, homegrown process: Sam Willmett says he usually makes a cup of tea and tries to smash a song in one go.
