Foel’s North Wales electronic project turns shaped randomness into a debut full-length
Foel is the electronic project of Jack Smith-Keegin, based in North Wales, and built around machines he has made himself. The project grew slowly: he began making music at sixteen, then spent years developing ideas before releasing anything. His first full-length album, Gwasgaru, arrived after a 2025 debut single and is presented as part of a connection to the local landscape and Welsh language. For a first listen, the album’s title track and Melltydd are both documented on the release and show where this long-running project opened up into a debut statement.
