Dove Ellis: the story and songs to start with

Dove Ellis’s debut album Blizzard put a Galway-born folk singer-songwriter into wider view

Dove Ellis, the Irish-born, UK-based singer-songwriter whose real name is Thomas O’Donoghue, moved from relative obscurity into broader attention after supporting Geese and releasing his debut album Blizzard in late 2025. The record was released on December 5, 2025 and is documented with a full track list and credits on Bandcamp. Sources describe Blizzard as the start of a bigger chapter rather than a finish line, and note that Ellis has already drawn critical acclaim, a Mercury Prize nomination, and sold-out shows.
