Meet Chris Patrick.
Chris Patrick, a New Jersey hip-hop artist from East Orange, describes his music as a place to work through what he has lived and felt. In an interview with Swidlife, he said he has lived in East Orange all his life and that he started writing rap in sixth grade. He also said his music comes from trauma and from trying to be transparent with listeners. A later Complex interview found him working through the long process behind X-Files, while the Vocalo piece noted his label CXR and his plans for new releases. Across the sources, he comes across as an independent artist focused on honesty, collaboration, and keeping momentum.
