Bells Larsen turns change into a recorded conversation with himself
Bells Larsen is a Toronto-born, Montreal-based musician whose work is shaped by change, identity, and careful self-observation. His sophomore album Blurring Time was built around his transition, with high vocals recorded in 2022 and later vocal arrangements made for his evolving lower voice. Across the project, he treats songwriting as a way to ask questions, test ideas, and keep his past self close rather than set aside. The result is a record that moves between uncertainty and acceptance while staying focused on lived experience. Larsen’s earlier album Good Grief also centers personal transformation, this time through grief and loss. Together, the releases show an artist making intimate documentation part of the music itself.
