Meet Avery Friedman.
Avery Friedman is a Brooklyn-based musician making her debut album New Thing after years of orbiting music as a fan, writer, and listener. The record came together around anxiety, personal change, and the effort to turn private feeling into songs. Friedman describes starting with guitar and humming, then building lyrics and melody through trial, returning to ideas that felt worth keeping. The album was produced by James Chrisman and includes contributions from Felix Walworth and Ryan Cox. It also reflects her Brooklyn life and queer community, while marking the shift from watching music happen to making it herself.
